If you are already a practitioner of Astanga yoga you are welcome to the following classes - no reservations are required and you can just pay upon arrival. See prices.

If you are new to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga we recommend an introduction on a Saturday intro class. Click here for intro Saturday class.

Beginner classes:
You will be introduced to the poses of the Primary series. We will keep on working with the breath technique and body locks, as introduced on the Saturday. At the end of the 4 weeks you will feel confident in the standing and first sitting poses and move on to level 2.

Led classes:
Here we will instruct you further in the counting Vinyasa system of breaths in and out of the positions. Your breathing technique (Ujjayi) and body locks (Mula and Uddiyana Bandha) will be more synchronized with the movements called the vinyasa-method. We will show you the first sitting positions up to Janu Sirsasana and more of the finishing poses.

Teaching
The teachers and instructors of the school will first give new students an introduction to the Vinyasa method and the positions and their sequence. The students will after attending the first levels then develop their own practice in the mysore classes under the guidance of the teacher.

The teaching of the school follows the indian method from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India which is to pass on knowledge from a qualified teacher to the students as it had been done through many generations of yogies and hundreds of years of teaching. All teachers and instructors at the school follow this tradition to provide the foundation for a safe and wellproven yoga practice, as the teachers have been passing through the same process and knows the benefits and consequences both physically, emotionally and mentally.

Mysore start:
We expect you to know the asana and sequence as they are taught in the led classes and we will then help you with the sequence of the Asana and how to get in and out of the asana where needed. The practice becomes your own with more dynamic and in a constant flow. The finishing sequence will be completed including Sirsasana. See the guidance for the class here: Mysore start
