Teaching

If you are already a practitioner of Astanga yoga you are welcome
to the following classes - no reservations are required.
If you are new to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga then we recommend an introduction
on a Saturday intro class. Click here for introductory
Saturday course.
New students will first be introduced to the Vinyasa-method,
the positions and their sequence and by working with the breath,
the body-locks, movements and Asana find their own practice with
the guidance of the teacher. The students will then on the mysore
classes be given indivial adjustments and through the direct contact
with the teacher be guided further into the practice. The aim
is that the student develops own insight into being in balance
and the ability to use the practice as a tool for personal development
and the bliss of yoga.
The teaching of the school follows the indian method from Sri
K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India which is to pass on knowledge
from a qualified teacher to the students as it had been done through
many generations of yogies and hundreds of years of teaching.
All teachers and instructors at the school follow this tradition
to provide the foundation for a safe and wellproven yoga practice,
as the teachers have been passing through the same process and
knows the benefits and consequences both physically, emotionally
and mentally.
Mysore start:
You start here when you know the asana and sequence as they
are taught in the led classes and we will then help you in keeping
the flow and how to get in and out of the asana where needed.
As the practice becomes dynamic you will be given new asana and
the finishing sequence will be completed including Sirsasana.
See the guide for the class here: Mysore

in mind
Mysore:
Named after the style of teaching used by Sri K. Pattabhi
Jois in Mysore. When you have your own practice; you are confident
in the positions then it is time to move to Mysore classes. Here
you will be given more individual corrections and adjustments
in the Asana.
When you are ready the teacher will give you new Asana from the
Primary and eventually the 2nd (intermediate) and 3rd series (Advanced
A). The teacher will follow you and your practice and bring you
further when you are ready to bear extra poses - in order to ensure
a healthy process - physical, mental and spiritual. You are always
welcome to talk to your teacher about the practice or if difficult
emotions are coming up or you have any questions you feel to talk
about.
Only a qualified teacher, who knows you and your practice should
introduce you to the intermediate and advanced series - based
upon knowledge of many many years of experience and thousands
of yogapractises, Parampara. This deep understanding of the vinyasa
method ensures you a healthy and stable yoga practice.
