Maria Boox - workshop April 14 & 15 2012.
Maria is a loving and caring teacher with over 20 years yoga experience and we are delighted that she is coming to the shala again.
She teaches Ashtanga in the traditional way, having spent a lot of time in Mysore, India – the home of Ashtanga Yoga, and Maria was also in Sharath's first teacher training course in Mysore Summer 2009 together with both Susanna and other long time students.

Maria´s yoga vision
In modern times yoga is used and comes in many ways. For Maria, yoga is about being present with ourselves and she believes firmly that the world will become a better place as more and more people start practicing yoga. Maria’s teaching is based on each individuals own inherent potential and she sows the seeds in each student to see the possibilities with encouragement and suggestions.
Practicing ahimsa (love and compassion) towards ourselves and others, being present with every breath is sure to lead one towards the vital connection with what is bigger than us bringing deeper faith and trust.
From Patanjali Yoga Sutras, chapter 1, verse 33

In daily life we see people around who are happier than we are, people who are less happy. Some may be doing praiseworthy things and others causing problems. Whatever may be our usual attitude towards such people and their actions, if we can be pleased with others who are happier than ourselves, compassionate towards those who are unhappy, joyful with those doing praiseworthy things and remain undisturbed by the errors of others, our minds will be very tranquil.
Maria first qualified with the Iyengar family, before she found her true path in the Ashtanga yoga of the late Pattabhi Jois who personally authorised her teaching. After establishing, owning and running, one of Sweden’s best yoga schools for ten years, Maria recently opted for the open road and the opportunity to teach retreats in beautiful locations while nurturing her practice and encouraging others as well as guest teach with some of her yoga collegues.
Maria’s knowledge and skill as a teacher means individual attention for everyone, creating a comfortable and safe practice. Read more Maria Boox |
